Sustainability in 2018

Sustainability in 2018

In 2018 we continued to focus our efforts on our Sustainability mission

At Stylecraft we continually search for ways in which we can make decisions that lead to good practice for the climate and world we live in.

Having achieved a 32% decrease in our carbon emissions over the past 5 years, 2018 saw Stylecraft complete the first year as signatory to the United Nations Global Compact and the submission of our first Communication of Progress (COP).

In October our Sustainability Leader, Jacqui Wagar, was invited to speak at the Sustainability Live event. Forming part of an on stage panel, the discussion surrounded Modern Slavery within business supply chain. This follows our engagement of environmental consultants, Edge Environment, to undertake a Social and Environmental Risk Assessment Analysis across our company and supply chain to ensure compliance to the NSW Modern Slavery Act 2018.

We were also proud to become a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) with an aim to reduce the harmful impact of packaging on the Australian environment. We are working to have 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packing by 2025 within our supply chain.

At the National City Switch Awards in November, Stylecraft was also awarded NSW New Signatory of the Year for our work around waste minimisation and creating a sustainable culture.

We are excited to close our year off with the announcement of our Gold partnership with Clean Up Australia in 2019 and look forward to being involved in such an important national initiative.
