The shortlisted projects, designs and products for the 2018 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) were recently announced by Inside magazine. As Australia’s largest and most successful independent design awards program, IDEA celebrates the very best in interior and product design across 14 different categories, as well as Designer of the Year and Emerging Designer of the Year. For over 10 years Stylecraft have sponsored the Workplace Under 1000 sqm category, with the shortlisted projects for this category again revealing innovative and creative designs.
This year, Stylecraft’s involvement in IDEA extends beyond being an official sponsor with our Perth showroom shortlisted in the Retail category. Designed by Woods Bagot, the space uses light and the original heritage features of the building to showcase Stylecraft’s Australian and international brands in the heart of the Perth CBD. Also designed by Woods Bagot in Perth, the headquarters for Telethon Kids Institute has been shortlisted in the Workplace over 1000sqm category. The new headquarters for TKI, Western Australia’s leading paediatric health and research organisation, feature Zoe lounges by Verzelloni, Bill floor lamps by Touching Space, alongside Catifa 46 timber leg chairs and Aava timber leg chairs by Arper to facilitate team discussions in an open area. Modular lounging ranges, Prisma 2 and Guell by Derlot Editions, were chosen for breakout areas due to their versatility and ability to introduce colour into the fit-out of this important part of WA’s health landscape.
The 2018 IDEA also include a focus on product design, with the Adapt modular lounging collection by Ross Gardam and Botanical planter screens by LEN Furniture shortlisted in the Object - Furniture & Lighting Professional category.
We congratulate the designers of the 2018 IDEA shortlisted projects and products. The winners will be announced at the IDEA Gala Party in November in Sydney.
